This Manhwa is a contender for being a top title for several reasons.
With a handful of chapters, you are swiftly engrossed in the epic adventure spearheaded by a virtuous MC.
He is a great influence, he doesn't just fix problems, he "eliminates them."

His past life experience is utilized with accuracy, but not to the point where it is unreasonable.
Looking at the story ahead, it only gets harder with each challenge and the MC adapts.

The pulling factor for me is the insanely epic action scenes. They look and feel realistic with a smooth flow you only see in a few other works. To describe it, it's combat ... that makes sense with its movements stunning like a dance.

Can't say anymore with just a handful of chapters so I look forward to future updates.

With his last breath, the protagonist, the king of mercenaries, learns from his executioner that his family, his friends, and his country were actually wiped out by someone else... His last words swear revenge, but how can a dead man take revenge? Fortunately, he wakes up just before the plan to destroy his homeland gets underway...

All in all, I don't have much to say about “The Regressed Mercenary Has a Plan” or “The Regressed Mercenary's Machinations,” which is also my main problem with this manga—but first things first.

As I said, this is about a mercenary who once ran away from home. When he returns, he ... finds a devastated country. His sister and maid, who raised him (?), have disappeared without a trace, and his father fell on the battlefield. Already a well-known mercenary, he swore revenge, and his path led him to the top of the world, where, as one of the strongest warriors and most influential men, he is ultimately killed by one of the knights who serve the man responsible for his family's death. He swears revenge, wakes up again, you know the drill.

And that “we've seen it all before” feeling defined my experience with this story. Even though it's by no means bad, it mainly rehashes familiar ideas. The execution is by no means bad, in fact it's quite good, but since the market is almost oversaturated with stories like this, a manga needs something special to make it stand out from the crowd – and that's exactly what “The Regressed Mercenary Has a Plan” lacks. So I don't see any reason to recommend this story over the dozens of others of its kind.
If I had to name something, I would point to the fight scenes, which are not only depicted in great detail, but also manage surprisingly well to make the fight exciting, watchable, and dynamic, even though they are just a few still images. At least I, who tend to skip such scenes with slight annoyance, was surprised at how much I enjoyed them, even though the manga is otherwise rather generic in terms of art style, etc.

Conclusion: If you don't know many manga of this type, I can definitely recommend “The Regressed Mercenary Has a Plan.” If you haven't read a story like this in a while or if you particularly like them, I also recommend “The Regressed Mercenary's Machinations.” But if you want something beyond generic mush, you should steer clear of this manga.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the manga repeatedly has problems with minor logical inconsistencies. However, this could well be due to a poor translation, which is why I wouldn't criticize it too harshly.

Trash, the regressor trope is overdone in manwha, but even all of them don’t compare to the trash that is this manwha.

A man who comes from a fallen noble gets killed and gets a second chance, now he’ll abuse knowledge and figure out everything. The story is unoriginal, the people don’t question anything, the art is shit with the only nice thing being the large amounts of ass you get to see on the female characters , i have no interest in any of the characters and the fight scenes are super boring, there is no dynamic that i read that interested me and to ... be honest the setting of a european medieval lord in the middle ages around whilst not overly picked isn’t explored here, if you want this you can easily find this.

The reason i won’t even give it a 2 is because it personifies everything wrong with manwhas, it’s lazy copied writing that has no hook, hell i’d rather read that ai generated knight god guy, at least that’s somewhat unique, what does this have? Nothing.

You could easily AI generate this manwha, prompt chatgpt to copy all popular regression manwhas with a european medieval background setting, make him use the sword and make him have a sister but no parents, the AI will easily generate he was a fallen lord’s son and that he learnt some sword style from fighting as a mercenary.
