“Wait, this actually might be good”
“Nevermind, this sucks.”
“I take that back, it’s going somewhere.”
“Aaaaand… it’s back to being trash”
This manga was a rollercoaster of emotions — not in the conventional way where the writing was so well-thought out and tear-jerking, but rather the opposite. Whether it be the inconsistency in the mc’s personality or the huge amount of plot roles and nonchalance in the world, the manga wasn’t well-written, ruining much of the immersion and tenseness.
...
“Monsters are killing everyone, and I just watched someone die in front of me… What a perfect time to shower, walk around the neighborhood, and pick up my little sis from school!” I wish I was exaggerating these events, but these actually happen in the manga; simply put, the manga treats the whole monster situation as a severity and a threat to humanity, but it then quickly brushes it by for the sake of plot; they then give half-@ssed answers, which completely contradicts the initial writing and thoughts of the mc.
Leading em to my next thought, the mc and characters are incredibly shallow and inconsistent. Supposedly, the mc was a kind soul back then, but once he has matured and bullied, he turned into an irresponsible, emo edge lord that says “cool” one liners, which are extra cringeworthy. The side characters also aren’t explained much besides for being bad for the sake of bad and trusting for the sake of trusting.
If I wasn’t behind on 500 chapters worth of manga, then I could totally see myself reading this to smash my brain in and have those giggly wish-fulfillment satisfaction moments, however, it’s also not worth the time or effort, since it’s not unique enough nor is it at the point it becomes entertaining due to it being so bad.
