I can understand that it's not 8 or higher but 6.56? Really?
I mean it's an anime about camping, so what do people expect?
Is it because it doesn't have the typical CGDCT cast like Yuru Camp but instead a cast of rather mature characters?
Imo the camping aspect is handled really well, you get chill vibes and I also really enjoy the character interactions. Especially the fact, that you have mature characters with flaws who act kinda naturally is really refreshing.
Like I said, I don't think it's a masterpiece or something, and I personally also prefer Yuru Camp when it comes to camping themed anime but 6.56 kinda gives you the vibe that this anime is slop and I really don't think it is.

I’m with you. Its great for what it is, I’m not sure what people are expecting. This is as slice-of-life as it gets. Yeah it’s not perfect but it’s really enjoyable.

As it was running, there were dozens of comments from viewers about hating both the lead characters, one for being too pushy and one for being antisocial. Personally, I thought that was the point, showing how nature and peace together helped them both to adjust gently as it progressed. Sadly, the judgemental types couldn’t see beyond early prejudices and probably dropped it leaving a low score.

This is probably the issue. Having the female lead threaten the male lead with a false sexual assault accusation is a difficult first impression to come back from.

I just watched ep1 back because that seems like a dumb take, the most she says is ‘should I spread the word that you looked at my panties?’ Sexual assault? Exaggerating much? Jeez, anime watchers these days! I won’t use the T word because I hate how others use it, but that was hard to come back from? Good luck with real life…

1) Very bad art and animation: animation quality is the main factor affecting the score of an anime. I would have rated it much higher if this adaptation weren't so cheap.

2) Low popularity (it's not even in the top 4500): the more popular an anime is, the more it will be watched and rated by casuals/beginners who rate everything higher; the less popular an anime is, the more it will be watched and rated by experienced users who may rate it low just because it's worse than anything they rated higher, not because they hate it.

Seriously, I don't think the animation is THAT bad. Especially the background art depicting nature is quite decent imo. But yeah, Yuru camp for example looks way better.
I mean it's pretty niche and it's slice of life, so I wasn't really expecting top tier animation.

Ah it’s fine but not a 8 in my books it’s more like a 5 or 6.

Not because it’s a bad anime just the characters and overall theme don’t really click to well with me and the animation kinda sucks.

But yeah the main reason for me is just I’m not really the target audience

I wouldn’t listen to them too much, they the kinda person who thinks rating an anime low somehow makes them better than other people. Looking at their ratings they don’t even like anime, majority of their ratings are below 5, that or they have no idea how to watch anime for enjoyment/entertainment

@Todday Just because you rate 9/10 anything that doesn't make you fall asleep midway while watching, it doesn't mean you enjoy anime more than I do. I enjoy my 4/10 as much as you enjoy your 8/10, I just feel the need to distinguish different levels of good but MAL doesn't let you use decimal scores.

I have to dispute your scoring system if the comment above is honest. You claim to enjoy a 4/10 anime. It clearly says when you enter that 4 that it means BAD. If you enjoy it, how can you rate it as bad? 5 is average, ie tolerable, but if you enjoy it that says definitively that it deserves at least 6. The comment you reply to that you dismiss as giving 9 to anything that doesn’t cause sleep pretty much is about you, I assume you saw that and were a little triggered? I can see the point that someone who rates all anime below 5 on average really do not like anime and shows disrespect to the makers of nearly all of it.

@FutoiOtaku I disagree with MAL because we don't need four synonyms of bad for the scores between 1 and 4. I wish 4/10 were defined as "subpar", which still means worse than average but with a less negative connotation. Not good of course, but not even painful to watch.

And I don't rate "all" anime below 5. I rated more than 600 anime rated 5 or above, and more than 300 7/10 or above (six in the Summer 2025 season alone).

Mature characters? The heroine who invaded personal privacy like unauthorised access to other's phone, blackmail and etc.? Or the protagonist with that immature foolishness? It has been getting more watchable, but the first impression is poor enough for people not to truly care.
Help! I need somebody. Help! Not just anybody. Help! You know I need someone. Helpppppp!
