I too had forgot she was said to be blonde in V4 before @aurora_yuuki reminds me of that weeks ago.
However the Masachika / Saa-kun thing doesn't really hints towards anything since Alya never calls Masachika Saa-kun and she speaks everything she wants him to not understand in Russian. While Masha does the opposite. So unless Alya has memories issues (which has never been said) I don't see any reasons the childhood friend was 2 girls at the same time. I think the whole blonde girl thingy is merely the usual Japanese way of saying LOOK THEY ARE FOREIGNERS.
I would even say Alya saying she was blonde in V4 was a sorta fake hint before the reveal at the end of said volume.
Moreover I would be kinda upset if the childhood friend was a twin trap since it would mean Masha wasn't Masachika's very first love and that the whole build up on Masachika x past Masha and Masachika x now Masha made to help Masachika getting over his past had no sense to it in volumes 5 to 7.

Volume 8 ends around the 7th of November and they should do the elections in the beginning of year two so unless the time really speed up it won't be that soon.
