If by mixed opinions you mean love form 95% of the community and hate from salty people who are upset it’s better than their favorite anime, then sure. Even if it did have a largely mixed reception in the west it is even more adored in Japan right now which is all that matters and has been selling merchandise like crazy which is the biggest factor. Not to mention it’s by a hugely popular creator and team so even if it didn’t do well it would likely get a second season to try again anyway. I’d say unless a catastrophe requires the entire cast and studio to relocate to space and we lose contact, yeah we’re gonna get another season eventually. |

It will. It is just inevitable. But it will take a year. Fans don’t realise how much time they need to do the same treatment they gave for first season. And anything gets hate. I would properly say 2 animes that got more than this easily. Thankfully one of these animes are getting recognition better; Vinland Saga S2. Example: calling it farmland saga. |

the manga doubled its circulation while the anime is still airing and has sold more than 9 million copies, the show its extremely popular, especially outside japan and doga kobo isn't one of the biggest studio so I don't think they have more important project to focus on. I'd say yes |

I mean the hate is mostly from braindead shōnen fans. This anime got a lot of love and care from the studio, and what's more, the source material is also really good. It is popular, I believe it sold well, and its rating is really high despite the massive 1 star bombing. I don't see a reason this shouldn't get a second season If it doesn't though, I very much look forward to the studio's next project |

I mean, even I almost suffered from it; for example I reeeeeally didn't like chainsaw man because though the animation and voice acting was good, I really thought that the story was the most bland, copy-paste shōnen crap I have seen twice already (blue exorcist and jjk). And when you do see a show like that the primary insinct is to give it 1 star to lower the average score as much as possible, to reflect your opinion. So even though a show you think is a 6/10 gets an average score of 8,5 it infuriates you As for my rating of chainsaw man, I am not so petty to give it 1/10; frankly I couldn't care less. If people like it, then I should let them enjoy it, so I gave it like 5 or 6/10 I don't even remember |

I mean the hate is mostly from braindead shōnen fans. This anime got a lot of love and care from the studio, and what's more, the source material is also really good. It is popular, I believe it sold well, and its rating is really high despite the massive 1 star bombing. I don't see a reason this shouldn't get a second season If it doesn't though, I very much look forward to the studio's next project 1 stars don’t count in calculations of ratings. Like wow, this fandom needs to stop complaining about the score dropping… Like your 5 for Attack on Titan S1 is more review bombing than 1s here… Oh, no, if I wanted to review bomb AOT I wouldn't give it such a high score. I merely thought it was boring, as it took me over a year to finally finish A 5 lowers the score… There’s literally a discussion that says 1s don’t lower the scores anymore with even the algorithm of how ratings work. Saying facts are just not working huh. And if you thought it’s boring, it’s your thing even if it is highly questionable. I think his point is saying that he rated a 5 because that's what he thinks it is, and if he wanted to review bomb it'd be a 2 or 3 (not a 1 as you and some other guy earlier mentioned). if it lowers the score then so be it because it's his honest opinion ig You know I would have believed his intentions if he didn’t try to mention something not relevant as number of 1s or tried to label or dismiss what I am saying by saying that I am a “shounen” fan. |

I don't think someone's favourite genre affects the validity of their opinion. |

Saying facts are just not working huh. And if you thought it’s boring, it’s your thing even if it is highly questionable. I couldn't care less about the average scores; the only reason why I brought it up in the first place was to show that Oshi no Ko was recieved well. As for AOT, I gave it a 5/10 because that's how I felt about it- I felt indifferent. It was boring and I don't plan to watch its next seasons until I finish my backlog of over 700 anime. But I did not hate it nor did I think it was horrible, that's why I didn't go lower and that's why I didn't, in your eyes, intentionally "review bomb". But I don't see any reason to argue with you. It is apparent that you like shōnen more than seinen and I like seinen more than shōnen. Pointless bickering will get you nowhere and I don't plan on wasting energy on a conversation with someone with whom I don't see eye-to-eye. So unless you have something more to say, I propose we agree to disagree and end it here Dude one of my favourite series is Vinland Saga and that’s more Seinen than OnK… Like what’s with the dismissing at the end. I don’t care what you are saying to justify your score. I am just telling you a fact that a 5 is more of a “review bomb” than a 1. The definition of review bombing is: "A review bomb is an Internet phenomenon in which a large number of people or a few people with multiple accounts post negative user reviews online in an attempt to harm the sales or popularity of a product, a service, or a business." I never intended to harm AOT sales or popularity and this is my only account. I reviewed it a 5 because those were my feelings towards it. Nothing more, nothing less |
