1. Joint Training was arguably the weakest arc in the series, but rather than adapt it quickly they actually stretched it out, easily 1-2 episodes longer than it had to be, with a ton of pointless flashbacks.

2. Swapping EA with MVA messes up the story. MVA is placed before EA for a reason. Doing this ruined the introduction of many characters, and spoiled the ending of MVA. They also pointlessly had an episode that only adapted a single chapter.

3. They included a boring filler episode to tie into a movie. But as a result, they wasted so much time they ended up cutting parts of MVA. Which would have been unnecessary if they had not wasted so much time. This made the start much worse than it was in the manga. MVA in general was adapted pretty meh. They also didn't give MVA it's own opening, instead giving us a weak hero focused opening.

4. The end of chapter 257 is the PERFECT cliffhanger to end the season on. They didn't use it.

Not for no reason, don't forget they had to make an extremely important movie to show that they are earning money. A movie no one asked for coz of that Demon Slayer fever

the studio ruined this season, it was a disgrace and a disrespect to the original work. to be fair, since the first movie, the seasons have diminished in quality. this season finale was shit, garbage, manure, slurry, etc.

There was a reason and it was for the production and well being of the movie that came out along side season 5. I’m not happy about it either but this call was made by bones to make sure that the movie made as much money as possible.

The Demon Slayer movie had nothing to do with this. MHA has made 2 movies already, and both did pretty well. Why wouldn’t they make a third one?

I enjoyed it a lot as anime only. Glad I'm not reading the manga so I don't have to be as hysterical as yall lol.

The joint training arc had it's moments, but it was piss poor, and took way too long. By time It was done, there wasn't much more interest in what it had. It's like when that rescuing Eri arc, it took forever, and while moments were cool, near the end, you were just wishing for it to be over.

If either the joint training was shorter, or wasn't there. This would've been way better hands down.

You enjoyed it for some reason, but it's not because you're anime-only. This shit wasn't great in the manga either. It was just worse in the anime. Somehow.

I completely agree with you. They were too focused on the movie and making sure that the season fit in with its release to do the season justice.

I'd be so angry if I was Horikoshi because they took one of his best arcs (My Villain Academia) and ruined it. It's an important arc imo too because not only does it show the villains development which preps for future arcs but it made us like them which is also necessary for future events in BNHA

There was more than "some reason". 1A vs 1B definitely went on too long, but that part was still a 7/10 for me. Loved everything after that, from animation to voice acting. Feels like everything is getting set up for next season.

Basically this season started from episode 10 for me due to Deku's power change being the plot advancement point. Everything before that was fairly pointless. Sure, Tokoyomi being a badass and Bakugo showing his change was important, but that wasn't worth spending almost half a season on.

And after episode 10 there's so much re-used scenes as flashbacks. Like god damn. Use some short variants at least, a passing glimpse, but no, we get the full length flashback for scenes that just happened last episode or 2 episodes ago etc.

If I go by that train of thought, this season could've maybe been wrapped up in like 13 episodes.

I'm not targeting KnY. I meant that KnY's success must have forced TOHO to make another BnHA movie no one asked

Dude, they have made 2 movies scenes the start of season 3. Why wouldn’t they make another movie.

If you saw the movie, guess what, you were asking for another movie. So, the whole no one asked for this is BS.

I don't know if others were, but I really didn't like Heroes Rising

We don't get movies here actually😅, had to watch it in Gogo. I have it a 7 coz only of the animation, all in all, I found nothing interesting. They could have used that budget and skill for Mirio vs Overhaul and Gentle vs Deku

It still doesn’t change that many others saw it. Overall, it’s still a sign that people wanted more movies. I thought the Gentle vs. Deku was a good fight.

Everyone would have appreciated the movie if it didn't come at the cost of the season. I know it may have been underwhelming, and maybe not the best for all. But that doesn't serve the purpose of cutting away MVA so harshly

The only reason that I see for this season being bad is that damn filler movie. All of these points happened because of that movie.

The movie is at fault, this anime just doesn't have the charm it used to have and that's because they are making some crappy movie no one asked for and thus, the quality of the anime got degraded.

A rating of 7/10 is about right for this season, these last few episodes weren't bad, they were kind of great actually.

So far I enjoyed around 5 or 6 episodes in this season, the rest of the episodes were between bad and meh.

The movie is just an excuse - the season could have been good even with it.
