| Everything is canon but the OVAs are just side stories. Also, if you are anime only then there is no way to skip the parts of BorN that aren’t canon because 75% isn’t which sucks because that was some of the best DxD had to offer before volume 11 so just watch the first 8 episodes and then watch episode 0 of Hero. If you’re fine with reading, read volumes 5,6, and 7 instead and the third season is optional. Just a quick rundown for context: BorN basically pushed parts of Volume 7 to the first few episodes but changed a lot of scenes to fit a new anime-original story, completely skipped over the Sona v Rias rating game, went straight to parts of volumes 5 and 6 in random order, then had an anime original ending for the last 4-ish episodes. |
