To be fair, Noblesse always reused the same the same plot devices over and over. How many times did he use the "my power is nearly depleted, I can't use it > I still use it to save my friend > someone give me part of his > I use it 3 chapters laters > my power is nearly depleted > repeat". What surprise me is that the whole Werewolf was probably the best of the series, it changed the overused tropes we already seen. But I think what the fans are pissed about are all the hinted but never explored routes, like redhaired guy being on par with low lvl modified humans (also, the ship between him and Seira that was very strongly hinted). The absolute inutility of the school character. The Rai brother thing, that was here and there. The why of his whereabout in the begining never were clearly explained either. The whole last arc seemed like a "I don't care anymore", after what was probably the best arc of the whole story. It was a freaking rollercoaster. And for fuck sakes, Nuclear bombs. That's probably the worse idea. Him to finding anymore power would have been a more satisfying ending. Of course people assumed it was about his new story. |

2019 Said To "Be The Year Of Webtoon" on march 3rd, naver plans to upgrade ("revamp") their webtoon services (does this mean that they'll finally make people pay for their stories?). also there's this, which i can't understand in this translation. make of it as you will. Naver focuses on expanding its business model (BM) of 'Nobel WebTun', a customized Noble comics platform, 'Series', and 'Line WebTun', a subsidiary. studio N (if you've been doing your homework correctly, you know it's their drama studio) also plans to release 10 stories (the direct translation is "10 lineups") throughout the year. let's hope they get successful so LICO can get to work as well! there's also "Naver Books" which i suppose means they'll be publishing physical versions of webtoon. they'll also work on releasing games (which we already know) along with TV shows and movies as well. oh and just as i thought, whatever i read about that other webtoon company, it must have been lying, mistaken or translated wrong because this article solidifies that naver's #1 spot has not changed in korea, japan, indonesia etc. as for kakao, they're just collabing with a lot of big named companies for more drama adaptions. both webtoon companies are working hard to strengthen their IPs. it's also mentioned that experts said that it would be best to market in the west than ever before, so we could expect some korean stories in US line at last? EDIT:i messed up big time by accidentally posting this in my first post, which deleted everything that was in it. i salvaged a lot of it and it will be fixed by tomorrow. |

a warning to naver and webtoon companies to not make the same mistakes japan did that made the downfall of their anime and manga medium. very interesting. (long post) (http://slownews.kr/72077) As the mobile age spreads beyond the age of the Internet, human content consumption is rapidly changing in an increasing number of ways, but in a frank manner. In this respect, the lack of workability is an advantage. Let's take one example. Some time ago I talked to my acquaintances and Naver Webtoon [Sweet Home] and Japanese comic [IM Hiero]. I was looking at the sweet home pretty fun. However, the acquaintance said, "But that 's it. Let's see it once. It's not that the suite home is not funny, but you'll know. " I saw exactly one book last night, and as soon as I saw it, I realized that he was right. Expression, drawing, content There are many aspects to be shared in all aspects, but in all respects [IME HERO] is overwhelming . But this is why [Sweet Home] is overwhelmingly mobile . It is visually quite tired to see a picture that looks like a photo realistically to the background, which appeared in earnest after Katsuhiro Otomo's [Akira] on his cell phone. Even if the density is too high in the story. It easily wears out and becomes fatigued. On the other hand, [Sweet Home] maintains consistently low quality compared to [IME HERO] but maintains immersion, tension and content delivery to make me pay two cookies every week. At the same time, it is a good quality just to finish it by clicking on the button tactic and scrolling down and saying 'I had fun'. It is easy to say this. In the past, all of the people sat at the appointed time and ate seven bowls. Naturally, it will be superior in all aspects of taste, qualities, and nutrition rather than triangles. However, the 7 첩 반 반 반 can not be eaten while walking, but the triangular rice can be eaten while walking. It is possible to dismiss Webtoons as a "story that is not like a story, a painting with a foot" and so on, but thanks to such lightness, it has been optimized for the mobile environment and grown at a tremendous pace. It will not be until the future of comic book enthusiasts. Writers will be the ones that are suitable for that kind of thing. I grew up in the midst of a digital revolution 'digital native' (Digital Native) three all (I was born in 1994, was in contact with the first online game was seven years old, the game is the [Kingdom of the Winds]). Now, beyond the digital natives, the 'mobile native' who grew up watching YouTube on the way to his parents' parents in restaurants has grown into a high school student. The craftsmen 'who do' paintings and contents are likely to continue to appear as 'probabilistic errors' in this generation, but unlike their qualities, they are unlikely to get a great response in the market If you listen to some examples again, for example, Naver Demand Webtoon [Blue Desert Aaru] is an authentic genuine comic book picture, but it is a popular cartoon that emphasizes this kind of thing and emphasizes these trends. It is also similar to the sword fighting of the writer. Maybe [coriander] or [tiger] is an exception? From this point of view, the expansion of the overseas market to mobile and internet natives is not the best in Korea. In particular, Korean culture itself is at the center of trends, at least in Asia. The problem is that it is a double-edged sword in that the system does not have such a system and the individual does not need to produce and contribute and distribute it. That is, there is no entry barriers. Though many web-net students are drawing their hands to dream of coming up today (paradoxically extremely labor-intensive because the quality is low but the input manpower is not more than one or two), the situation is more difficult because there are more entrants Loses. Another contemporary cultural content is also bebeulreon effects ("Death", Ograd is a masterpiece of the bluff comic artist), but it is necessary to manage a certain degree of false consciousness as much as possible. . However, the problem with this chaotic market is that it is difficult to manage quality. If you are a top-ranking artist who has a high-ranking prize that has an ambitious launch, but the ranking is low, and there is no picture or content on the contrary, but there is a sense of peripheral sensitivity, what should you choose next? If you think about it like this, you will also get a dissatisfaction with "Naver is not going to put on the work of highquality now?" Other problems include low entry barriers and superstitious economics. It is dangerous for writers to overcome the quality management of long breaths and genre uniformity is spreading the mannerism to the market and opening the road to the recession like Japan. The current webtoon has been sold with a low entry barriers + head-blanking features and a 'very basic and baseline story baseline' 1020 female target cartoon 1020 man otaku target cartoon Male adult adults over 30 It seems that these three types of works occupy a considerable number of them (though the works at the top of the portal platform are works of inserting less specific genre colors, but now also the genre coloring is getting stronger). This is of course well suited to the current platform situation, which is to wait for another webtoon the next day after enjoying the headlessness, the momentary stimulation, but there is a lot of room for ghettoization if we do not attract more diverse readers. In my opinion, Neighboring Webtoon seems to have proceeded to some extent ghettoization. |

okay so webtoon's competition is a rigid as ever, but now the quality is dropping, when originally line only allowed high quality stories to get published. moreover, a lot of otaku are reading it more and more (line's rating in japan, duh) and so it appears original authors are either writing junk food stories or others are pandering to them. this could hurt webtoon and make them as much as a joke anime and manga is now. also, he says that even in high quality webtoon stories it doesn't rely on ploy as much as manga and rely on character and visuals, which isn't wrong but that means they need to pull a lot more effort than the golden age of manga. |

indeed we do. we only have ToG and GoH. i would say "girls of the wild" but people are complaining about the quality already. i swear, blade note could have been the making of a worldknown masterpiece if it wasn't cancelled. i was just thinking about it as i woke up today. fans still come back to the story even now (even though it's been cancelled since 2016), begging for it to be continued. everyone knew the story was going to be promising. anyways. yeah, line (and everyone else) need to up their game. quantity and availability isn't going to rival or even surpass webtoon, it's the quality. i wish i could be work with line and give them suggestions on what to do to stay ahead of the game. the webtoon business hasn't even been out 20yrs and people are already complaining of the quality. that can't be good. even manga had a longer live than that. and with webtoon it's not really acceptable since anything can be written and published as long as it's good, censorship isn't a thing with them that mangaka suffer with. |

according to this article naver is coming out with naver TV. i tried searching it up in korean but there's nothing in the news about it, so i assume it's not out but under development. if you guessed that "naver TV" is internet based, you'd be spot on. another article reads, In addition, Naver WebTuning, V Live and other content services also puts the power. Naver will also expand its domestic revenue model to overseas, as well as production and distribution of secondary contents such as movies and dramas. We are planning to make more than 20 popular webtoons in movies and dramas through Studio (N), a video production subsidiary newly established last year. also, a webtoon is getting an animation adaption but i doubt we will be able to see it, just like that lezhin movie. korean animation has no attention if it isn't associated with the US (family guy) or japan (basically any anime nowadays) |

as i was notified, the your letter webtoon was eng transed, and along with a subbed trailer. i'm so overwhelmed by the amount of people asking for an "anime movie" adaptation. i know they mean well but the ignorance of their assuming if it's east asian animation it's anime is getting pretty tiring. btw you guys, my brother has been pushing me for a year to do it and i'm trying to go through with it. since a lot of you here have suffered with me complaining about how ignorant people are on the webtoon/aeni industry, and i don't think that's very productive. i'm going to make a channel that's about the info of webtoon and aeni, and make it into a three parter. before i can do anything, though, i need to find an editing service and i haven't found a working free version of adobe after effects yet. ---- and yes, that video is pretty lukewarm. after looking at that video it, it only pushed me further to do my video series. i really wish i was the marketing manager of line, i know exactly what i would do. |

ToG had a hiatus, and just before the hiatus, they delayed the last chapter of one week. People thought it was problem, but the series started again this sunday, and there was no release in english. What annoy people is that they said nothing about it. Just did that, without annoucement, without explanation So most people assume they will delay from at least one week from now on. That might be more, since they didn't give an exact return date (which they did in the past when there was a several week hiatus, the return date was given at least one week before it came back). Some argue they want to implement a fastpast. But they already have the 3 preview chapters for that. |

You have to pay for a chapter that is already available for free on the internet in all the other language. The man that thought it was a good thing should be fired... okay so because everything has been so quiet (and i don't mean everything regarding webtoon, everything i'm interested in) i was desperate and searched up webtoon animation in korean and looked around for some results. DO NOT GET EXCITED this news is from 2017, but i didn't know this before. so apparently in the same year as lico was developed line also made "webtoon play" specifically for animation shows and clips. here's a list of previously adapted webtoon:https://koreancontent.kr/852 and an official says Due to these various OSMUs, support policies, and support from netizens and consumers, WebToon is also moving toward animation. These attempts will surely be positive for the comic and content industries, who are looking for ways to evolve in many ways. moreover in 2015 there was a type of presentation about korean animation+webtoon, but seeing as i don't know korean i can't say i can figure out much. there's a full transcript at the bottom that can be copied but i put it into google translate and this is all that appeared: The name of the flower that day was. What is Webtoon / animation? It combines' Web (web) 'and' cartoon (manga) Animation Use monsters and puppets to postpone monotony. You can make that movie. 웹 optimization It's a weekday, Harpo Heartbreak drama It is Sunday. Mike inside out Thank you! :) Webtoon, Animation Monthly wage gold, water, The story of the men Socks dobby one piece It is eternal. Riley's feelings are stuttering The dismal friendship story of Jesus and Osubin minonyms travel Story of cute animals Hapuhafu The voice drama will wear a voice. Oh Yeong-kyo If you eat socks at once, the socks are also leather. Pirates of the protagonist Rupee Existence The story of the hero, spoon who plays fighting hero. lastly if you are in the discord you know that i reported that lico has taken up almost all their job applications, some of the job applications being 2D animation. does this mean no-one applied when the deadlines came or they found some people? that's it. i'll look around later and see what else i can scrap up about this webtoon play service. |

or maybe they are putting them off for those bad and basic mobile games. perhaps they want to gain revenue from the games before putting money into their drama and aeni studios. all of this just makes me wonder more what is going on for them to hold off doing aeni adaptations since we all know its worth billions of dollars. line has a titanic amount of power whether webtoon related or not, and they could easily get some animation studios to invest in them/give them loans just as they have done with mobile game companies. i hope the second half of this year gives us some action. |

multiple sources, some as early as 14hrs ago, report a conference meeting of korean and chinese businesses meeting together to settle down on animation of webtoon and such. since china has the most hold on animation outside of japan, i wouldn't take this conference lightly. http://www.haidongzhoumo.com/news/article.html?no=4324 An anime / webtoon company in China has held a business meeting with 150 local companies in China to explore opportunities for entry into China. KOTRA will host '2019 Korea-China Digital Content (Animation · Webtoon) Partnering Conference' on October 16 (local time) in Hangzhou and 18 (Beijing time) with Seoul Development Agency, On the 22nd. 31 companies from domestic animation and webtuning conducted 521 business consultations with Chinese companies on co-production, platform distribution, and character product development. At this conference, the Korean animation company Biai Group signed a contract with China KaDa Story (KaDa Historian) regarding the publication of the electronic book of its animation "Gololaj". Jungdam Media, a maker of Webtoon, has signed a MOU with Longshan Culture Media in Beijing, China, to promote long-term cooperation with the WebToon Imaging Copyright. KOTRA plans to attract Chinese leading buyers in the Asia-Europe Union Cartoon Connection 2019, an anime / Webtoon business meeting held in Seoul next month, to create successors of Korean companies. An official from KOTRA said, "Animation and Webtoon are big contents that can be expanded by characters, games, and theme parks." I will do my best to create substantial overseas advancement of Korean content companies. " perhaps we'll see something next year. |
