I'm looking for an anime with pure romance similar to that of 'Golden Time' or 'Say I love you' where the main couple do lovey-dovey things with each other with occasional drama. I know that Toradora has an extreme tsundere girl so was just wondering if the romance quantity/quality is high ? Thanks

Golden Time and Toradora are by the same author, so the romances will be pretty similar. And yes you will get your lovey-dovey moments. Just give it some time...

I would like to just mention Taiga is not a tsundere just really aggressive
I don't consider it as good as Shana or Tsukaima

but most people prefer it over those 2 so Im sure you'll like Toradora if you're a romance fan

Toradora is my first favourite anime... already saw 6 times, and im not a fanboy. Some will say that it is good and others not, the only thing that matters is that if you like the tsunderes you can enjoy it

I don't mind tsunderes, as long as they eventually soften up and provide some good romantic developments later on in the show and aren't 100% annoying/hard-to-get. Does Toradora have this ?

All tsunderes eventually soften, so they are called tsunderes (deredere)
A good development of romance? How do you define that? It was totally fun for me.
But if you dont like aggressive girls, which also has to do with tsunderes (tsuntsun), then I suggest you dont see it.

If that's what you want then I personally think Toradora will leave you with a bitter flavour.. It was, for me, one of the most frustrating anime out there.. Maybe my idea of romance is different than the majority's, but I really disliked it..
Golden time, on the other hand, was a GREAT romance anime.. I wouldn't say those 2 shows are similar, despite having been written by the same author..

Toradora is an anime you WILL have to watch, sooner or later. You won't be able to relate to a big part of the anime community if you haven't, as it is a sort of must-watch. So watch it, just be aware: you may like it, but you may not. Hope not to trigger anybody. Peace and love guys!

A good development of romance - where the main couple show clear forms of affection towards one another.

You have some 'romance' animes out there (Kimi ni Todoke, Orange) that leave the viewers without a hint of romantic closure or even a kiss. I'm aware that Toradora has a kiss scene, but I guess what I'm asking is if the love interest is one-sided? If it is I'll most likely not touch it ...

I hate tsunderes, but I think Toradora is brilliant, if that's any incentive :P I can't say the obvious reason why I love Toradora because it's a spoiler, but you should definitely see it if you enjoy romance anime.

Oh. i got it. So if it has a good development, love is not one-sided ... in fact throughout the plot you will notice how the friendship of two people becomes one of the purest loves
