At least its funimation so we know it wont go out of print for a long time or have super extortionist price tag like some other companies like to do with animes

I would've shelled out for the Blu-ray of Escaflowne... but a new dub? No way.
I usually watch subbed but there are certain shows that got me in to anime that I saw dubbed first and thus I like to watch for the nostalgia factor. Mainly works by Ocean Studios and their VAs (Escaflowne, early DBZ, Gundam Wing, Inuyasha, etc).
I'm not gonna pay for a Funimation re-dub unless they bring back the original VAs. I went through heartbreak once when in Dragonball Z, Vegeta went from being Brian Drummond to Christopher Sabat. I can't bear to witness another beloved Brian Drummond voiced character (Allen) suddenly become someone on Funi's payroll. I'll stick with my old DVD version, thank you.

Redubbing Escaflowne is one of the most questionable (to put it mildly) actions FUNimation's taken recently, especially just for the sake of a few extra scenes. Having a kickstarter for it is just...no comment.

They should know better than anyone else to do the same for Code Geass.
