Wow! I would never imagine that a plot like that could last this long. Props to the mangaka for somehow keeping his readers interested in this series for 4 whole years.
That's terrible! There's still quite a bit of material to go on, but judging by the pace the 2nd season is already going at, it's not that much of a surprise. I bet they will leave out a lot of stuff.
Cramming the rest of the manga into the second season of the anime is totally doable. It's an action series after all, and it'll go by a lot faster on screen. Things like Korosensei's back-story took several chapters in the manga, but they could do it in a few episodes in anime-form (Nagisa even stated in the manga that it only took half an hour to tell the whole story). Same with the Shinigami arc -- a lot of it could easily be condensed.
How I think it'll play out:
-Shinigami arc will last until episode 9 or 10.
-Episodes 11-12 will cover Nagisa's conflict with his mother.
-Episode 13 will be part school festival, part end-of-semester stuff.
-Episode 14 will be exams and the Asano conflict, as well as Korosensei vs Asano and Chairman Asano's backstory.
-Episode 15 will be Kayano's past.
-Episodes 16-17 will be Korosensei's backstory.
-Episode 18 will be the class deciding what the fuck to do.
-Episode 19 will be entrance exams and space.
-Episode 20 will be Shinigami #2's backstory, the introduction of Koujou, the graduation album(?) and the start of the students trying to get to school to save Korosensei.
-Episodes 21-23 will be Korosensei vs Shinigami #2/Koujou and Kayano getting in the way.
-Episode 24 will be Shinigami #2 and Koujou being defeated, Kayano being healed and them deciding to kill Korosensei.
-Episode 25 will be whatever happens in the next few manga chapters and the epilogue, assuming there is one.
Dunno if they'll throw in the Valentine's thing since that's not all that relevant.
It's better than them trying to drag things out and make everything take twice as long as it needs to, especially when Ansatsu is as action-packed as it is. Plus, in terms of business, it makes sense -- they'll save a hell of a lot more money this way than if they made a season 3.
I was upset when I first heard about it but after trying to rationalise it, I can see what they're doing. I still believe they'll make a good adaptation, since it's been great so far. Sure, they leave out some of the more comedic moments, but in a way it flows better. They're trying to make it an action series through and through (with some comedy still here and there). I'll take it.
Anyway, no matter what happens, all I ask is that Karasuma and Irina end up together. I don't know why, but I ship them so fucking hard. I thought Karma/Nagisa would be my favourite ship of the series, but nope... it's fucking Karasuma/Irina.

if that the order they will adapt this then it will be perfect
