@TRI_Mike Marrying a commoner would be a scandal for such a pominent family.

I don't know why everybody seems to hate on Mayu-chan. Sure she is a brat but at the end of the day she reflects on her ways and apologize.
And her interactions with Tina are hilarious, the antiacids just cracked me up xD

Do us viewers know like the runner-up to some relationships, like that woman or man who just ends up second in the end and somehow they were not good enough for the person they pursued, but they really wanted them? That is Mayu, sadly; she is the rival to Aoi that has the capability to be second, but only second at best. That is sometimes the way the world works; but Mayu is the only girl who has openly expressed her direct desire to become Kaoru's and works in similar fashion to Aoi in wanting to please Kaoru with cooking good meals for him or serving him tea, in this episode, 賄, "Servant." The fact that Aoi and Kaoru's history and romance is kept a secret hurts everyone because, beside Aoi, none of the women can truly pursue Kaoru (they try in vain that causes some pain) because they do not know that he is already taken and that he really loves Aoi, except Miyabi-san, who, of course, knows and is becoming positively receptive to their well-being. The scandal thing is quite interesting as it allows the series to keep taking advantage of the fact that the younger women would not know, but will keep trying for Kaoru's heart. Sadly, though, the series feels like an experiment to see when the women would give up, and like how their love will eventually have to come to a heart-breaking end. Mayu and the other women in their own ways are such examples of how that sometimes imaginative desire called love ends tragically, but Mayu really is the number 2 (girl) for Kaoru; and maybe under different circumstances she would be number 1! 10/10
