Spice & Wolf ?!, how do you feel about it ?

hello fellow MyAnimeList friends :)

recently I have re watched some old anime's I had on my computer, on my gold anime folder, I only put anime's I found to be very interesting in that folder, the latest one I watched was spice and wolf.

re watching this actually made me feel bad at the end, as if it ended with some sour flavor to it, not because it was bad, but because I felt desperate for more, as if this is the one anime I believe deserves a next season the most.
I have watched many series I loved which ended open but non of them made me feel like this.

how do you guys feel about this anime today ?
their really aren't many anime's if any as this Genre,
spice and wolf has all the characteristic a good anime needs Long story short it is very mature yet funny and have a general goal behind it.

I believe us as a community can make a difference and make a strong enugh voice to be heard in studios and maybe a third season can appear. (of course if their is enough of us ).

so lets start by discussing about it and checking within how many of us feel the same :D

I have actually only gotten to watching it about a month ago because I avoided it for some reason, I suppose it was Holo's fox features. Have I ever been more wrong? Maybe in a school test, but not when having misconceptions of anime :| I really enjoyed the interactions between the two main characters and I really felt a void after finishing the second season. It seems as though the economics of the show turns people away, but it was never an issue for me. I had watched Maoyuu Mao Yuusha first, which is strange now that I think about it.

really ? I really love romance shows and personally I found economics to be the best part about this show.
I do agree you really need to concentrate to understand what going on and keep up with the plans.
but its just the unique thing about it :)

the way holo tease lawrence by out smarting him in economics (and in general too) is really funny I found it to be the best part about it :)

Thought the whole thing was a little above average. I really liked the fantasy ish setting with Holo and the other feather lady. But their drama wasn't interesting. Most of the drama was made because of Lawrence's greediness so it felt preventable and boring, the other part was drama made while trying to keep Holo's identity a secret I too didn't really enjoy it, the whole economics aspect was boring too. And his voice sounded too young to be an adult.
Would have been way better as a light romance fantasy adventure, putting the economics and drama on the backplate.

It's one of my favorites. It's much more adult about its romance than most stories out there, to the point where most people seem to completely miss all of the subtext. Unfortunately that means lots of people are bored with it, but on the plus side it also means the fandom is top rate. It's the perfect show to watch when you want something a bit more mature and nuanced than average (even outside of anime).
