Hello

Was reading around, and found out I should read the manga before watching the anime. But I'm no big manga reader so I did meet a "problem" as soon as I searched around for the manga.

Accel World, on this site it's two different types: Novel and Manga.
What is the difference between those two?

I see that they are not released at the same time, and that gives me just a bigger questionmark above my head.

If I understand the manga is kind of based on the novel (?) but what is the difference here.

Thank you, who helps me clearing this out. (And so sorry for my english)

The (light) novel is the original story. Both the anime and manga were adapted from this novel series.
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

Thread moved to Accel World novel board.

A novel is a book and in this case it refers to Light Novel which are short books in Japan consisting of 200 pages on average.
Usually when a Light Novel is popular in Japan it gets a manga and/or anime, many anime are based of Light Novels in recant years.

In order not to create a new thread, I'll ask here:

Has anyone picked up the novels after baka-tsuki abandoned the project due to the start of the official translation?

They had stopped halfway through volume 6 and although they completed volume 8, they hadn't even started volume 7...
So not much has been translated considering the latest volume is 16 :/

I recommend Googling "Tusjecht." The first link would be helpful.
