Do you think anime would be mainstream if there was an Western channel dedicated to it?

For the most part, I'm going to say no.

Anime is not even THAT popular in Japan, contrary to popular belief.

I mean hell, when I started watching anime, I thought the majority of Japanese people were into it, I later found out that they weren't.

theres also laws in some places that makes a network play a certain % of national shows so a purely jap anime network wouldn't be allowed unless they had some homegrown shows.

I would say that there are certain Anime that cater to the Western Audience more. I don't necessarily think that is done on purpose, but Cowboy Bebop is certainly something for the Western Audience.

right some anime get viewing figues of 20.00 or aboive that 20% of house holds tuned in to it
