| I feel like this topic is going to go horribly wrong down the road but i had to XD I'm fairly new to the world of anime and out of the couple that I've watched I usually prefer the sub more than the dub. But there are a few animes out there where I really enjoyed the dub. These few would include Baccano, FLCL, and Cowboy Bebop. With this show being completely westernized, its animation (similar to Dex's Lab. and PPG), and the two 10 min. episode format (such as most Western cartoons), the style just feels like it should be in English. Not only that, the voices were pretty well done and fits the characters quite nicely in my opinion. I've heard of people complain about how there were way too many obscene words and disliked the usage of 'fuck' every other word. But I personally feel it added more to the show especially with the type of inappropiate humor this show is going for. Feels like a good, late night 1 am adult swim type of show. Not only that, the writers wanted Funimation to be as vulgar as possible with the translation since Japanese censors are a lot more strict than American ones. |
| Its all subjective, but in regards to the dub of Panty & Stocking, certain times it's funnier hearing the 'Engrish' swearing (and Garterbelt's OH MY GOD/GOD MY OH) while the dub is good in the aspect of the liberties it took to make the dialogue one of the most hilariously filthy dubs I have heard in a while (and made me believe that Funimation could very well pull off dubbing hentai if they wanted to given their actresses openness to say such things lol) |

| I found the dub to be exceptional and personally thought that it was the way the creators of Panty and Stocking meant PSG to be - raunchy and dirty, with fucks fucking everywhere. The American language allowed the show to go places that are impossible with the more polite and buttoned up Japanese language. Panty and Stocking is a show that deliberately mimics the American style, so yeah. Having watched both the sub and the dub, it is my opinion that the dub blows the sub out of the water. |
