| The MC isn't an anti hero, but watch Shinsekai Yori anyway. Also bit the bullet and watch Shingeki no Kyojin as it releases. The best part of the show is the cliffhangers, they make the wait so awesome. Also, it's directed by the guy who Directed Death Note. |

Which of the examples I gave don't fit? All of those characters have pretty low morale and do whatever they feel like doing to have fun/achiev their goal. Neither of them are interested in saving the world/bringing peace etc (besides Lina probably, but she is mostly forced to do so). |

Just give the guy some recommendations and let him make a choice. |
