some of these may not be exactly what you're looking for (something like Code Geass) but generally I recommend these for psychological. They're all either psychological, or else anime that fans of that genre like. Also I'm not sure how dark you want them to be, alot of psychological anime are dark, which some people love, and some people hate.

Boogiepop Phantom (takes a few episodes to get going, but is amazing and not that long)

Serial Experiments Lain

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

Texhnolyze (very dark, and also takes a couple episode to pick up)

Ergo Proxy

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Steins Gate

Paranoia Agent

Haibane Renmei

Revolutionary Girl Utena

honorable mention goes to FLCL. I don't really consider it psychological, but it always gets put in these lists, and it's worth watching at least.
