Why Wont Kurapika Leave The Mafia??

The family he works for still has influence in the mafia world, and Kurapika simply wants to reach higher heights in the mafia world so that he can retrieve the eyes of his clan easier, and to kill the Phantom Troupe.

In the manga till now Kurapika got little to no screen-time after Greed Island. The only appearance he made was in the Elections arc, and it was in 1-2 panels only, so even us manga-readers still don't know what happened to him after Yorknew.

I don't really see how Kurapika will be able to get the Scarlet Eyes back with the mafia family he is currently with, if I recall, they were only powerful because of Neon's ability to read the future and with that gone, they have lost their money and power.

He will/would have to work for someone else or in the future when we catch back up to him he will of left the Mafia and become a "Traveler/Adventurer" of sorts. This could tie into the "Dark Continent Expedition" Arc which might re-unite the entire group. (Leorio might be able to do something?)

From the 2 panels he appeared in, he seemed like he reached some goal of his from being in the mafia.Hopefully Togashi will focus on it a bit in the next arc.

Also, despite that Kurapika doesn't appear in the next 2 arcs, they still hold a lot of interesting stuff; In the Chimera Ant arc Togashi expands the world and involves one of the components of the Hunter x Hunter world: the mysterious animals and rare species, and the Hunter Association in it. The Elections arc feels a bit more like a normal HxH arc, somewhere between the first and 2nd arcs.
