What Happened to the Original Digimon?

K. So I'm mainly bugged out by episode 28. When seraphimon's egg hatched.
1.) What happened to Tokomon? The baby form of Patamon?
2.) Since when did Patamon digivolve into seraphimon? Where's Angemon?

Lol, but that would mean there's really NO connection whatsoever between the original and the rest of the franchise.
