Who are these characters?

I have encountered two Akikan scans, one of a gothic female character, the other of a dark-haired girl dressed in red. None of them is ever seen in the anime. I did not find any other images or info about them. Who the hell are they?

Google says the second one is Mai.

That just means that the other one must be another character within character cast for the light novel.
