| I would like to find some anime that I haven't seen, but the story is really important to me. I want: 1. A good storyline that makes sense- It builds really well from episode to episode- no standalone arcs/ episodes, no random plot elements thrown together pretending to be a story. Nothing made more complicated/ weird than it needs to be just for the heck of it. Things like mechas, magical powers and moe girls should not be all over the place for no reason- if they are there, they should at least have a clear purpose besides pandering. 2. Characters that are interesting, not cliche and not obnoxious. 3. Some level of maturity in the presentation. I am not into shounen or anything that seems like it is aimed primarily at kids. 4. No or very little filler. I want every minute to be worth it. Thanks guys! :) |

(TV series, sure, the movie is shorter and clearly gonna be more streamlined, but it feels like a cliffnotes) |
| No idea if you're into gambling type, but Akagi and Kaiji both are extremely entertaining with no fillers whatsoever. Might not suit your taste however. (Spying your lists :P) Gun x Sword might suit your taste, though there are some fillers there. X TV, it's a bit older but definitely worth a look. Samurai Champloo definitely up in there, though it's episodic. |
