| Soooo, idk why but I've been re watching and I think i have to stop at episode 19? The episode where they just had the Christmas party. I kinda realized this is where the ending isn't exactly what I want to be anymore. For some reason I want it to be Ami and Takasu, don't be mad at me if you dis agree. And so im just sort of wondering if you guys ever felt the same way, that the ending should of been different or maybe in another anime you would have rather seen a different match up. Sorry, if I'm not making sense atm it was just a random thing i thought i should post about. TL:DR, I don't like the ending anymore after attempting to re-watch. I wonder if anyone else didn't like that they are together. |
| Nope. The way I see it, Taiga needed Ryuuji, and Ryuuji couldn't leave Taiga alone. Most of all, they can only truly relax and be themselves around each other. (Up til Taiga discover her affection for Ryuuji may be a tad more than just best friends) I don't know what you saw, but my second re-watch at Toradora made me support Taiga more. (I didn't really care about which girl Ryuuji will end up with during my first view) Though it's not surprising to find others who prefer Ryuuji to end up with the girl they like. In your case, Ami. But, do bare in mind that it is not us viewers choosing our favorite girl, but Ryuuji as a character to pick the best one for him. Sometimes, the viewers forget that Ryuuji is a character of his own, not an "avatar" for the viewers. ^_^ |

I was thinking this as well, to me the whole Ryuuji and Taiga relationship seemed a bit rushed, it seemed like they went from good friends to more than that really quickly, usually there is build up or indications but from what i noticed they were simply really good friends and nothing more than that. Also i felt he should have ended up with Ami as well, to me Ami was better than Minori from beginning to end, and i just ended up liking the chemistry better with Ryuuji and Ami than Ryuji and Minori. Now don't get me wrong independently i really like Taiga's character, i like all of the trio Shana, Louise, and Taiga but unlike the first two in this show i preferred the couple that didn't turn out, and even though it was a given from episode 1, whether the first time seeing it or the second i still prefer a different pairing than the one given. | For me, Taiga's most 'moe' moment was when she was unconscious on the back of Ryuuji and she accidentally confessed while the faint ED Orange was playing in the background. This is the moment I always look back to when I think of Toradora. Honestly, it's been a year or two since I saw it and I can't remember much about Ami or Minori, so here's something to think about: was there a defining moment between Ryuuji and Ami that makes the possibility of this couple worth thinking about? |
| Damn I'm re watching this too. But the most sad part for me for the whole series is that I'm actually like Ryuuji, even my bro says so. It's kinda funny because I can relate to this anime so well. Meh I think its alright although I don't have an extreme tendency to clean, even though I'm considered tidy. Whahahahahaha XD |
| I just marathoned the series in a rewatch in two days and I support Taiga all the more though I do understand Ami being a very suitable match as well. I forgot just how good a series this was...Taiga may be Tsundere but she is moe incarnate when she wants to be. |

| In the end, i guess the TaigaxRyuuji pairing made sense. I do think it's unfair how some people judged Ami so harshly because she was made out to be the big rival to little miss queen tsundere, Taiga. Both women have horribly flawed personality traits. But, they have an adorable side also. At least with Ami she knew who she wanted from the start and tried to go after it while Taiga and Minori were busy playing a game of "tag you're it" with Ryuuji's feelings. Ami realized there was no point in pushing the issue cause she was the odd woman out in a messy love triangle. Instead, I think Ami just hung around Ryuuji and tried to give him some advice, though it was often too cryptic and sometimes just came off as bitchy comments. Ami must have been hoping that things with Minori and Taiga would end messy and she'd be there for Ryuuji so he might finally "look at her". On a side note: I love Eri Kitamura's voice acting and would pick it any day of the week over Rei Kugimiya's. |
| Rewatching it as we speak, I wasn't a huge Ami fan the first go around.. But right now she's by far my favourite character. I do think AmixRyuuji would be nice, but he can't really abondon Taiga. Ami knows that, she's trying to fix the fuck up that is the relationships in Toradora. They arnt natural at all. I would like if they made a couple OVA's (like Clannad did) of the RyuujixAmi and RyuujixMinori (even though I am not a fan of her). Minori is a fake thoughout the anime, she plays the airhead and acts dumb.. But she isn't. It would be interesting to see a version of her being her true self with Ryuuji. Would make for a interesting OVA. |
