The Bf 109 was a one seated german fighter aircraft of the 30s and 40s and one of the most important aircrafts in WW2. It was a new generation of fighters with all-metal monocoque construction and a retractable landing gear, replacing the double-deckers with fixed landing gear and cloth cover. The first flight was in May 1935.
