| My vote is Rio, but it is close between her, Kanata, and Noel. Kanata has the innocent, good nature, and positive outlook going for her. However, she is a bit to simple of a character for my tastes. Noel is brilliant, quiet, yet fragile and deeply hurt, but also with a bitingly sarcastic sense of humor, which is a nice combination to make a complex character. However, the excessive quietness is irksome in many ways. Rio is wise beyond her years, slightly bitter, talented, and intelligent. In addition she is caring and dedicated to her adopted family at the Clock-Tower Fortress, in addition to being, in the end, a loyal daughter to her father and the savior of two countries who were destroying each other. In the end, it is the OVA episode that pushes her above Noel. Her dream to find out what is behind the advancing No-Man's Land and to work to make the entire world a better place makes her character the most compelling to me. That and the fact that she is hot! LOL! :) (Let's face it, they all are...) |
