Various other users would be better off if they were removed from my sight, but yeah, that is what really made the lack of this feature apparent.

Hm thanks.

I wish it removed everything instead of just collapsing it, but I'll take what I can get.

I don't mean to hijack this thread however, when you click on 'Recent Posts', and then click on the Circle-with-a-minus-sign button, is that meant to hide the thread? If so, then it doesn't work for me.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find anything in the search function.

I was wondering if there is any way to hide posts by certain users on the forums? I've been getting hassled lately by someone, and while ignoring them is a viable strategy, I'd rather just not see their posts at all, especially since they've been making similar baiting/offensive posts to another user.

Blocking doesn't seem to work, I'm assuming that only prevents them from private messaging or commenting on your profile.

Yes, because some users reported that it causes problems for them, so I decided to remove it:

I think that just hides the entire topic.

Thanks for the links, but I'm skeptical if it's causing problems tbh. I'll try it out if I get any more hassle from that user though, but I'm hoping they'll grow bored soon enough if they're not getting any reactions.

Well you'll see it right away. If the quote does not work, then it's not compatible
I can undelete the userscript so that you can try it, just tell me

Sorry for the amateurish question, but how do I install the userscript on chrome? I downloaded it, but it simply tells me "extensions and user scripts cannot be added from this website".
I've tried looking for a way around it, but no luck so far.

Alright, I've installed Tampermonkey and the user-script. It does seem to be working, but it has given me several problems, particularly the ones you mentioned about not being able to click/use any links such as quick reply, private messaging, editing anime entries, etc. so I've uninstalled the script for the time being.

As aforementioned, Chrome is my browser by the by.

Which of the scripts have you tried? Or both?

The one in this thread: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=118125
This particular script: http://irc.tmj.im/images/IgnoreMALUser.user.js

I didn't try out the Firefox one since I didn't think there'd be much chance of it working at all on Chrome.

Is there a way I can to block users so that they can't reply to me or I can't see the crap that they post? Basically a way for me to not see anything at all related to their activity.

The script is not that useful, my friend in MAL downloaded that script and then her PC went hacked or something like that. It's better if MAL make the block more powerful.
