Considering revising my anime/manga/OVA premise idea. [FUCK!]

I originally had God creating five magical girls named after five elements. But the Earth, Air, Ether thing is fucking with me.

I'm thinking wouldn't it be easier if he just created Fire, Water, Lightning, Ice, Grass, etc?

Since Air mostly relies on blowing wind and earth is not usually revolved around grass.

The part where it got to me the most to the point of a serious revision is the ice girl. Is either Air or Earth going to have to learn ice powers as well as electricity? That sounds ridiculous!

Don't get me wrong, there still could be an earth girl and even air as far as blowing wind but looking back makes me strongly ponder about the missing holes around it.

Fuck, I hate when this shit happens....

Shit happens for a reason. I'm just glad I'm reconsidering about this to see if it's easier this way.

Would it be easier? Probably. Would it make for a better story? Absolutely not as far as I'm concerned.
The more bloated you make your character roster, the more tedious it is for a viewer to keep track of them, and most just give up and stop caring at all.
It is much better to have a few characters with strong core identity and a more spread-out set of abilities than to have one for each state of water and have them occupy valuable screen time while you do nothing meaningful with them.

Would it be easier? Probably. Would it make for a better story? Absolutely not as far as I'm concerned.

@iThink Thanks for the input. Water can just transform into ice girl at one point if that's even easier.
