Trailer for the anime - https://youtu.be/sbTlyYg5fV4?si=z7iroh2RqYOpzzyC So this is my second favourite manga ever I mean I down right adore this manga. But I’m really scared for this adaptation because of what happened to whisper me a love song. But at the same time after watching the trailer I’m just like wtf because the quality of the animation makes it look like a high budget shonen anime. So like idk what this post is even meant to be. I just want peoples thoughts because again I’m optimistic but worried I mean the trailers quality is unironically better than honestly any anime I’ve seen. But that’s just a trailer. So just give me your opinions on this. Wether your a manga reader or someone who stumbled upon the trailer |

I would like to put hope in this, but I personally don't think the teaser is especially good. There are a lot of lights and shadows and that's why it looks magnificent. But beyond that it does not spell a high budget at all. For example, 00:08, that's a wrong sitting figure if my eyes serve. For example, you can see their room at 01:10 which has a very generic modern-looking wall with weird fancy chairs and table. Compare this to page 71 in the first volume of the manga, where you will see a more decorated wall with a simpler set of chairs and table. I personally believe that the design of wall and funitures in the original manga is very much intentional. Both the wooden walls in the classroom and the fabric wall in the dorm give me a warm and friendly feeling which set up the perfect stage for the story, while the simple funitures tell me that these characters are not growing in a noble family, and this is not an expensive place. Details like this are not inherited in the anime which is very concerning to me. That's said, I terribly like this manga, and I wish the adaption would be good. |

The trailer is preanimated so none of those shots will actually be in the anime. |

@DarK-LaW Like unironically yes this is so true. I mean its not as if the anime is bad just its similar to Tokyo ghoul being its a absolutely trash adaptation of the manga. But as for this again my expectations are all over the place. For one the trailer looks amazing but it was apparently pre animated so the show may not look this good. But if it does then were in for a treat/Emotional joy ride. |

I havent even heard of original manga, but i really liked the trailer. It looks very beautiful and aesthetic. And i like that its not a comedy yuri but cool and serious yuri. Its also a bit scary because i dont believe in modern anime, but i still want to hope that it will turn out well. Even if visuals will be not the best quality, maybe studio will be able to make it looks good with aesthetics and style? There were such examples in anime. And in general - what the hell is going on in anime industry, why are modern anime looks so cheap? And this is while anime is becoming more and more popular and brings more and more money? It seems to me that money is not going to anime, it going into the pockets of rich? |

(You don’t have to read this but if you wanna know a bit more about who’s handling the adaptation go ahead) Okay so firstly a large portion of anime which get released are done poorly for many reasons. Sometimes it’s just promotion for the manga or sometimes it’s issues at the studio But as for KimiShinu (this shows nickname) provided it gets done justice this will be something special. Because it’s a very serious and tragic war/Girls love story. The trailer was pre animated so there’s a chance the actual anime won’t look this good But I’m a little more hopeful for the adaptation after doing some research it’s being done by studio Roll2 which is a newer studio which may sound bad but there’s a ton of promising info. Roll2 has apparently assisted on certain episodes of shows like an episode of apothecary diaries or Re zero etc. honestly theres so much it would take ages to list it all. So my point is their a newer studio but have assisted on a lot of anime (This is stuff I found online about some names working on KimiShinu) For one the script and series composition is apparently getting done by Hanada Jukki who has worked on things like Sound euphonium, steins gate and a lot more Or Kakuchi Takudai who is directing it worked on some big names like parts of Oshi no ko or my hero academia So it seems like there are some good people working on it |

@Phantom_Siren652 Well, i would say that the chances are still small but they exist. Sometimes it happens that a new studio can make a good anime. In worst case the release of an anime adaptation can be an advertising and a reason to read manga |

It should be fine. I'm not gonna spoil myself by reading the manga even though i've already read a lot of discussions about this. Also, say gex so im so in. |

It's always been this way. Anime has become more popular and profitable than ever in the past decades, specially with the influence of overseas streaming, but most of the revenue goes back to the production commitees, as they were the ones who invested to begin. That money gets used to make MORE series, not BETTER ones. |

Juuki Hanada is working on this. This is the guy who: * Got people to watch Girls Band Cry despite it being all CG * Got ENGI of all studios to shine with Medalist * Wrote like 1/3rd of KyoAni's entire catalogue. * Did the adaptation of Steins;Gate. The one that's sitting almost at the top of all time here on MAL. We will be fine. |
