So Lambert refers to a perfect matte surface in game engines and 3D modeling software. Blinn and Phong are both reflective surfaces, the only difference being in how they handle reflections. Also named after the researchers who developed them. TL;DR Those are surface materials with different light diffusion parameters in 3D graphics. |
