I just started watching one piece and I’m in episode 542, fishman island arc and I just found out that there are movies (I’m kinda slow). I want to know the correct order to watch them or if you guys think that I should watch them.

I'm caught up but currently going through the movies for the first time. Just go by release order Chiaki is a good site since it has every movie special etc in order with release dates

none of the film fit the canon because:

1 - its not meant to be
2 - even if it references canon stuff, or it's written by Oda himself, it's hard to place them in a coherent timeline because of plot holes.

having said that you can watch them for entertainment value. maybe some characters in those movies are going to be introduced canonically one them in the main series/manga


you should watch the ovas tho and the Episodes of
