Actualy, the first season was well done and it loved it.

I haven’t watched this new season yet, but I hope it continues how the last season was.

And I will probably wait for the DUB because I saw the first season with the DUB too.

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Hes the dev, the creator of the game. Not a player.
The character he ended up become is the final boss of his game.
Well, same same different i guess.

overlord isn't a trapped in a server/game anime at all though. overlord is a full on isekai. Momonga(Ainz) and his guild base get isekai'd to another very much real world. he isn't in a game world.

Isn’t this one about the same? Kunai is a dev, not a normal player, but he still wakes up one day as his character in a world he doesn’t recognize.

Overlord keeps a more serious tone, generally speaking, and focuses more on a careful exploration of the new world. Kunai is a bit more devil-may-care from the start, and the show’s comedic tone reflects that, but the premises are incredibly similar.
