Ace'ing a show with negative points - does it work?

Hello,
has anyone here tried placing a Ace on a anime that will score negative points? Does it still work / trigger?

My current lineup this week could be arranged to end up with 3 shows that already exceeded the limit along with 2 other negative scored ones, and I ask because if the Ace still works under these conditions, it would worth it.

extra question: if it works, I guess I should Ace the least negative one of the two, correct?
