Volume 1, Chapter 2:

This chapter is another example of bad storytelling. The fundamental problem with Goblin Slayer is that it has no idea how to balance a world, so it results in situations where what is explicitly said contradicts what is implied by the world. We see a room of experienced adventurers mock Goblin Slayer because they believe that Goblins are easy to kill. We also see three new adventures die to goblins. The story has already established that goblins learn from their mistakes and the death of their comrades, but we also establish that adventurers do not. Gild Girl is the only person who sees that goblins have been the main cause of death for new adventurers and no one else seems to see that.

You can see how a parody series handled this kind of thing better. Konosuba's story is set in the stereotypical town for beginners and most of the monsters in the area are weak. There is one monster that is extremely powerful and cunning and it gained the title of "Beginner's Bane" because it was the main cause of death for new adventurers. You can also see in video games where particularly challenging bosses in the early parts of the game gain extreme notoriety. The Capra Demon in Dark Souls I is infamous for being a ridiculously hard boss even though it is just an overland enemy later in the game.

Goblin Slayer can't present a coherent worldview because it undermines the premise. It relies on the audience to view goblins as the weak monsters they are in most media and games so the shock of seeing them as deadly monsters in the story grabs the audience. The story needs to reinforce the misconception by having all the adventurers act like they live in a world completely different than how it actually is.
