Idle Transfiguration can do this as well? (Ep 23 spoilers, More in post)

So, can Idle Transfiguration activate sufficient cursed energy within non-sorcerers to make them sorcerers? Is that possible? Fake Geto says that Mahito did exactly that to Junpei which gave him the Jellyfish Shikigami. Also, is that ever shown in S1? I can't remember this at all. Some clarification on this would be appreciated!

I don't have manga spoilers, but isn't Idle Transfiguration the ability to reshape souls? This should allow for a wide array of possible effects, probably dependent on the user's understanding of Souls, and changing people's body shape or blowing them up is probably just a very basic application.

@Meritas Yeah, that makes sense. Even this 2 year old reddit post by a manga reader for the same chapter as the last episode states the same:

"Using Idle Transfiguration, he gave them access to Cursed Energy. Similar to Mahito with Junpei.

A lot is being made out of the 'adjusted the brain' thing. I think that this makes more sense in the series' conception of the soul's relationship to the mind and body. The soul may have the necessary qualities for a cursed technique, but the mind might not have the ability to manipulate cursed energy. We also know, graphically, from Mahito that changing the soul changes the body, so a slight modification of the soul might change the mind/brain as well."

yes mahito did the same with Junpei. Altering the soul also includes the brain

Correct. Junpei had the brain of a non-sorcerer but Mahito's Idle Transfiguration changed his brain to give him a technique. Fake Geto applied the same trick to all the Non-Sorcerers he marked with his Cursed Energy. So all he had to do was use Idle Transfiguration and boom... 500 newly awakened sorcerers and 500 reincarnated sorcerers.
