As the title says, I feel like this anime wasn't visceral enough. It completely failed to transmit the feeling of despair and human misery that such a massive event would cause, the most visceral stuff throughout the 11 episodes are
. The anime doesn't focus on what people would realistically go through in such a scenario, the loss of life is mostly shrugged away as the anime focuses almost entirely on the protagonists' goals, feelings and relationships.

Furthermore, I feel like, for the most part, the anime keeps being too hopeful
. It's just really too predictable
that most things turn out alright, barring Yuuki's death, which is still predictable as it's really easy to expect him to die due to the dynamic of his relationship with his sister
.

Don't get me wrong; I am not talking about gore or depicting death or anything like that, I'm just saying that the anime fails to properly show the human condition in the context of and as it relates to such a natural disaster.
Pretend there's something flashy and cool here.

A good show can express the death without explicitaly showing it.

The show doesn't want to show you a lot of people dying. Just one death is enough to understand the catastrophe.
