Best ep in cour 2..the shinji bankai and shikai ost was goddamn great....but honeslty the shikai was better...and better had better use..they cooked this ep

Well, due to the nature of his bankai, its pretty ineffective due to it's limitations. But Pierrot sure popped off with their animation of his shikai

First, they definitely gave him a lackluster bankai… I don’t know about Hisagi’s bankai, but maybe him using his would be better? But maybe it wouldn’t suit the flow of the fights we have.

But if they want to highlight shinji’s bankai, they could at least have made it look better in terms of animation and everything. Just create an useless stern Ritter and have him defeat him with it.

The Shikai was sick!! But it is weird it looking 100 times better than his bankai.

His shikai being better than his bankai, you can say it is 'opposite' of what normally is. That's just how shinji's sakanade goes, it likes doing everything in reverse.

I mean Shinji was written with a better shikai than bankai, don’t really think that has anything to do with Pierrot lol. They are doing a fantastic job and they adapted both forms exactly how they were written.

Not only is his Bankai much less useful than his Shikai and just a terrible Bankai overall, his Bankai also got way less screen-time than his Shikai in the recent episode even though Shinji using Bankai was one of the main hype tools used in the cour two trailer. I'd laugh if it wasn't so sad.

Also from some of the reaction videos that I've seen, a lot of viewers simply don't seem to understand what his Bankai actually does; people keep calling it "OP" and "broken" even though it's quite literally garbage.

His bankai is more useful in various specific situations, such as helping him when he is outnumbered. However, his shikai is more useful in other situations, such as 1v1.

That's the point. His Bankai is for fodder and his Shikai is for strong enemies. It's inverted. Which is in accordance to Shinji's personality

It makes perfect sense and goes with the theme of sakanade doing everything in reverse, shikai better than bankai, but also they’re both really useful in different situations.
