| We're introduced to another new cop character this time, Honda. He's a man who undergoes a dramatic personality shift while riding his motorcycle. Think The Nutty Professor, the Jerry Lewis version, after trying his concoction. Or the Wolf Man after seeing the full moon. Not a bad character so far, though the episode sort of devolves into a standard Ryotsu vs Chief outing in the second half. This time with a traffic safety lesson as the backdrop. I noticed several shots and sequences were recycled and used multiple times in this one. Honda's transformation, the Chief putting his hand on Ryotsu's shoulder and the Chief shouting at Nakagawa in the car were all shown twice. Gotta save that budget! I did enjoy the obvious Ryotsu-dummy and Chief venting his frustrations on it. Pretty fun episode overall. |
