Its rated quite lower than the main series but the animation quality is as good and there were definitely some things left out of the main series. Does it address to those or just adds non-canon special episodes

If you want only important stuff watch the last episode. I still recommend you to watch the full series because it's just fun to watch.

If you’re a big fan of Ranking of Kings, watch this. It’s just a collection of side-stories. Episodes 4 and 10 are worth the watch, even if you weren’t the biggest fan of season 1, but still are interested in watching season 2.

Episode 4 shows the backstory of Ouken and how he came to be who he is, very good and on the same level of quality as season 1 writing wise.

Episode 10 is just the first episode of season 2, they just released it early as a teaser I guess.

The rest of the episodes are pretty wholesome, but people who aren’t big fans of the first season will probably be bored with them, so I don’t recommend them unless you are a big fan.

binge in my opinion but if you want to skip it that bad atleast watch ep 4 and ep 10 which is actually canon, but I would recommend to watch the whole season.

Not sure it's meant to be bingewatched as it's short stories.

Definitely worth watching if you like the first series.

I'm 3 episodes in and I think it's as good as season 1.

why it has a lower rating?

well, I personally had a lot of problems with the second half of the main series. it just mostly fell flat.

this. is not nearly ambitious. it doesn't try to be the best thing ever, it's just some very simple side stories. they don't try to be anything huge, but they also don't have any flaws.

they are just small stories that flesh out the characters and world, slightly more.
