| The mangaka seems to have done a good amount of research, not only of medieval German swordsmanship, but other aspects of western culture. During the Knighting ceremony, 8 of the supposed 10 Commandments of Chivalry compiled by Léon Gautier were mentioned (with slightly different phrasing due to translation). The two that were left out both involved the Church who are the villains in this series which explains why they were not included, but later in the chapter Sir Scott the knight working for the Church mentioned both of these Church related Commandments. Fits with how people tend to pick and choose parts of their faith they want to follow and adhere to. |
