Getting started First, decide if you'd like to create a new theme for the current layout, or a completely new layout. Designing a new theme Create a new look-and-feel for the existing modern About Me template. Choose new colours or patterns for:
Example: Designing a brand-new layout If you want to create a new design from scratch, you will need to consider both desktop and mobile layouts. Please refer to the contest page for a full list of things to consider. For quick reference, here are the important dimensions:

| How beginners can edit the About Me templates easily, for free on any device You redesign the About Me in the many graphic design programs out there, including Gimp and Paint.net. But the best ap to do this in is Photoshop. If you don't have Photoshop, you can use Photopea, a website that's basically a clone of Photoshop with most of its tools and working the same way. https://www.photopea.com/ You can even use Photopea on phones and tablets! To start redesigning for the contest, you need a .PSD templates of the About Me (desktop and mobile) which I made and provide here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y7vzj5jbobpup72/Desktop%20Profile%20Template.psd?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/tf903ldhkoghy6b/Mobile%20Profile%20Template.psd?dl=0 Download the PSD templates with the upper left button. You'll drag or open the template in Photoshop or Photopea on your device. When done with the redesign, save the PSD and export it to enter it in the contest. I believe they want both the desktop and mobile template edited. To redesign the template you can do any of the following; you don't have to do them all: * choose new colors * make and add a new pattern to the background * change fonts * edit borders * reposition parts The following posts will show you how to customize these features! Then you can turn in your redesigned template for the contest. |
