Why does one character sound like she was recorded in a tin can? Dub

Maki’s audio quality of her voice sounds like it went through a tin can. Is the subbed any different? Or is that just how her voice sounds?

Nothing like this on the sub. Dubs often have a lot lower budget and dodgy production a lot of the time as far as I’m aware so it’s probably that.

not all English dubs are bad especially for this lol. maybe it's the site you're or sum else cuz the dub for this one is top notch

Due to the dub actors recording from home, some sound quality for them might sound off due to them all sound proofing their rooms differently. That's what I think anyway.

Only time I ever felt that was Shirogane’s sister Kei when she first spoke. Maki always seemed fine to me

Do you mean Miko? I rewatched it in dub back when it first came out on Funimation, and I noticed her sound quality was way lower than all of the other characters. I’m 99% sure that it was because it was when they were having the voice actors dub from home.

It's because some of them are working from home. I noticed the same thing with Matt Shipman's characters in Dr Stone S2 and SK8, since they were recorded during covid

Yes, but it was Kei and Miko!! Except Miko’s voice actor in season 3 sounded a little better than the rest of it. I didn’t notice a problem with Maki

This never updates so that's cool

Kaguya-sama had a decent dub cast though they hired amalee who does live streams and i woulda thought would cost alot although im not sure what it would cost to hire her
