| Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Founder of Diabolism) and Tian Guan Ci Fu (Heaven Official's Blessing) are both danmei and xianxia donghua I definitely recommend that have been adapted from Chinese webnovels, both by Mo Xiao Tong Xiu. Another donghua I really recommend, though I'm not really sure if it's danmei, is a mystery and time-travel show called Shiguang Dailiren (Link Click). Happy watching! Edit: Also, some Japanese BL I can't recommend enough: Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto Desu. (This Boy is a Professional Wizard), which puts the cute in meet-cute, has gorgeous visuals, emotional story, and of course includes wizards and magic; Fuyu no Semi (Embracing Love: A Cicada in Winter), a historical romance with two characters on opposite sides of a conflict; No. 6, perfect if you're like me and prefer romance as the sub-plot, which in this case the main plot is more sci-fi and about unmasking corruption. |
