Izumi stands out from many RomCom protags out there, same with Shikimori too, this anime in general is unique in features compared to others, this has similarity to Horimiya, however Horimiya was enjoyable Ep after Ep that's because i think they added depth to Miyamura's character, but this anime stands out, but characters are kinda flat and doing the same, now 2 eps have gone, i hope it gets better, if it does, then it might get very popular like certain anime which did past season

Nah overall Horimiya is far ahead...comedy,main cast, side characters on almost every aspect Horimiya is superior to this. I won't say Izumi and the others don't have character depth but Horimiya did it much better. Shikimori's a good character though,on par or even better than Hori...that the only point Shikimori can win over Horimiya.

PS: I took both the mangas under consideration btw,not the animes

They'll show how they got together,Izumi at one point of time will feel insecure that Shikimori is ashamed of him(which isn't true),then Izumi will go through a realisation later on and start working even harder...but all the while maintaining the current wholesomeness and SoL theme. Also the character Kamiya's short character arc will be explored a bit,and Hachimitsu's inner struggles in the sport festival arc but it isn't that deep. Shikimori's past was revealed after chapter 120 so Idk why they showed it in the OP,or this might be another rushed adaptation like Horimiya itself. I can say nothing for the anime rn, coz the adaptation might turn out to be disappointing.

But Shikimori herself is unique for me personally,I totally love her lol.

The anime will definitely get better towards the middle to end of the first season
(character development etc.)

As of now, this show is in the same boat as RikeKoi for me. The show's pretty meh, but I'm in it for the waifu.

The manga is actually pretty unique, and very wholesome, it's a shame that the anime feels absolutely soulless by comparison.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

I feel like the female cast of this series are just more interesting characters than the male cast, so hopefully it gets more balanced out as episodes release. Horimiya did a good job balancing out the main cast and giving them chapters of their own to shine

Over all I do have high hopes for future character development and exploration just based of off some of the images shown in the op.

The main horimiya is better than this, but mainly because it had more story and all.

I would rather compare this story to side stories horimiya, where it's just everyday life of group of friends where the main characters are dating. And, imo, this part is so much better executed here. The main couple won't get forgotten, the side characters get spotlight and despite the laid-back atmosphere it does feel like their stories lead somewhere. At least that's how I see it (talking about manga here tho)

I think Shikimori is supposed to be the differentiator, Izumi seems a tad generic even for me as a fan of the manga

My biggest regret: Reading all 200+ chapters of Kanojo, Okarishimasu
