Teasing Master Takagi-san
| TL;DR: It depicts the Gift of the Sun statue at Tonosho Port There's little debate that Season 3 is the BEST SEASON YET lol. And I feel like the poster and promotional imagery of this series almost acknowledges it. As there's something incredibly peculiar about the artwork. The somewhat off-centered characters -- It almost looks like it's just a screencap of the show (which it's not). Something about its simplicity almost feels special. Anyway, something about that golden ring thing on the poster seemed too specific to be a a fictional work of art. Which meant that the port depicted in the poster (and eventually in Episode 9) was probably also based off of a real-world place. And being that it's something this series does a lot, it did turn out to be a real place -- the Tonosho Port in Tonosho, Kagawa where the series is set. As another user said: Yogicat said: Was the city they went to Takamatsu? Or did they go to Okayama? This series is set in the town of Tonosho, Kagawa. Edit2: After some digging, I've found that Shikoku Ferry operates the ferry route to Okayama. Takagi and Nishitaka took that ferry in the show. Now if only I could figure out where they went in Okayama... it looked like a cool mall they went to in Episode 9. Possibly the "Aeon Mall". Anyway, the statue/artwork is called the “Gift of the Sun" (by artist Shodoshima), if anyone is wondering. |
