I am not talking romance-wise, obviously, I am talking friendship/companionship. Not every movie should spin around romance. We've had 6 or 7 of these already (and we are not even counting other anime movies who work with the same narrative), there are different types of relationships between people too.

I just have a feeling Shinkai found one working formula and is going to overuse to death... sigh. I like his works (you can see both 5 cm and Your Name in my top-10), but I want to see something different from time to time. He is not interested in stuff like sports or murder mystery, I get it, but... well, Dareka no Manazashi of his was pretty refreshing to watch (refreshing for the whole 5 or 6 minutes) after Weathering with You, which I found pretty dissapointing. She and Her Cat- absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking- why not make another movie centered around people love towards animals? I also really liked Garden of Words, but it's too damn short. Hope you get the point, I'd like to see some variety in cast and stories, not the same story in different settings.
