| I have been looking for a good sports anime but most of the recommendations I can find are set in high school, a setting I do not find interesting. I was just wondering what are some good anime about professional sports? Also, why are high school setting so much more prevalent for sports anime than pro leagues in the first place? |
| The newer generation of anime have promoted High School life as the best life which is why all sports Animes out there are on highschool mostly although there are a few gems out there with quote unquote professional sports..... But they are mostly older one mostly before the 1980's. |

| Hajime no Ippo is boxing anime is not set in high school, instead set in boxing gym (though mc is still somewhat young when he started). megalo box is pro boxing with mechanical gear. also levius is also pro Metalboxing baby steps is also set is tennis club which is not a school club. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru is set in dormatory (not exactly school releated) giant killing is a set in a soccer club. mc is the coach One Outs is also professional level baseball sports (though its mostly mind games) Gurazeni: Money Pitch is also about life of a professional baseball player. though it comedy mostly rather than sports focused Notari Matsutaro is set in sumo stable. Nasu movies are about pro cycling |

| Baby Steps is a good one . The characters are high schoolers but the school isn't as relevant as it is in most other sports shows. Grand Blue takes place in college (tho the sports factor of it is very niche). |
| Run With the Wind, instead of taking place in High School, it takes place in College. Totally different vibe (I'm being sorta sarcastic sorta not) it feels different enough I think |
