| S3 and S4 are both canon. RootA(S2) was an anime original, which adapted only a certain portions of the manga. S3, on the other hand, is a complete adaptation of the manga and follows the story from the manga. You might need to read the manga between season 1 and 3, to fill in the blanks. |
| It is canon but not very good. So... Tokyo ghoul s1 was the only decent season adapted well from the manga. TG √A was an anime original that deviated from the manga. TG: re 1st and 2nd season are from the manga but rushed and bad. They are also missing stuff from the original manga because √A made a mess. So the story in the anime is a mess. In short, if you really like this series, you should probably read the manga. |
