Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- (light novel)
| I put off watching it before part 1 of s2 and still have yet to watch it. I saw in the trailer Emilia saying something about finally telling Subaru about when she was frozen in ice, I know the movie is a prequel about Emilia so I’m assuming it will have some significance in this cour. Will it be adequately explained in s2p2 or do I need the movie to get the full picture? |
| While the movie was an insight provider into the past of Emilia , it barely does anything to her as a character aside from making us appeal to her sad past, but it does a great job in giving puck some screen time he deserved and making him likable. In short watch it if u want to respect puck's actions (plus the antagonist or whatever it is, was a complete trainwreck) |
| It's really bad, very repetitive, drawn out and filler esque, so i would say very much no. Plus nothing really happens, and all of the important information presented in the movie were things that were touched upon in S1 even if just lightly. |

I can agree that it's drawn out a bit, but I don't think it would all fit in OVA length, and it also sucks a bit since very important worldbuilding and foreshadowing was cut in the beginning and the end of the film. |

They are different. Frozen Bond is just the tip of the iceberg as far as Emilia's past is concerned. The trials dive more into the actual roots of her trauma. Cour2 will give you a better picture. |

| There is no need to watch the movie to understand the anime, but I recommend watching it if you like the series. The same for Memory Snow. |

| Definitely watch it, you'll not regret it ! Indeed with S2 part 2 close to arrive, even better ! In addition to being a very good OVA, it'll give you information and characterization for the bond between Puck and Emilia, as well as other info. There is a reason why this OVA was created among the many available stories. |

| Yes you should it's not necessary but it is worth watching it came out before Season 2 and is clearly important (unlike memory snow ova which was mostly fan service, albeit with some foreshadowing) it'll give you more context about Emilia and Puck's relationship and how it came into being |
| Is it necessary? No, watch the movie is not necessary because you can simply NEVER watch it and relegate the movie to the abbyss of oblivion. That is what some people is really saying here. The movie is not essential part of the plot. Oh, duh, thanks guys! Now, is it appropriate? Definitely YES. This is the right moment to be introduced about a glimpse of Puck and Emilia's past, by watching the movie before to start this second part of the season (ep. 14 ). |
