After nearly a year being anxious about the rest of the adaptation.

I can almost say 100% I can rest easy knowing at the very least, AOT will have a good adaptation.

All we need is the ep number for part 2.

This team has proven themselves in adaptating AOT.

We are on the same wave length, I predict between 12 to 13 episodes as well.
but I predict something like 14 eps šŸ˜† I just hope that for perfectly paced adaption for dialogue chapters and for the chance that part 2 airs march (late winter season)

13 if its the same as the manga, I am including them skipping OP and ED sometimes.

14 eps if they decide to expand on some parts, which I want them to, the manga had some parts that felt rushed from ch 126 to 132

No way will they adapt chapters 132-139 if the work for part 2 began in October of 2020, I mean none of those chapters were even released at that point anyway. Part 2 will cover 117-131 and a movie will do rest unless y'all are expecting a part 3 lmao

I think they worked on chapter 117-123 eps (colt picture in magazine). They dont have to work on the latest chapters but the paths chapters surely. They could already started animating the alliance chapters while polishing the eps that cover chapter 117-123
Attack on Titan ended with chapter 123 and 130/131 is the epilogue

that would make sense only if attack on titan was a long-running show with no breaks in between seasons

idk anything at this point lmao

if they adapt the entirety of 117-139 in the next part this series is truly doomed chapter 130-139 would atleast take 2 and a half years to look decent. The final arc is nearly inpossible to animate in suh a short timespan, the best case scenario is that 117-129/130 2nd cour then 130/131-139 into a movie.
Imagine thinking 130-139 needs 2.5 years to be adapted. This fanbase is legit losing braincells as the years go by. No studio will be given that much time so in your mind it's doomed to fail from the start. 2021 accounts are bringing comedy back to MAL forums.

They most likely started working on 132-139 in 2021, use some logic. 124-128 won't take them that much time or effort to adapt.

Anyone still expecting a movie is just OD'ing on copium.

Let's be real here. No animator will accept working on the final fight which is madness to animate just for it to be released with just 9-11 months of work considering everything in there has to be hand-drawn since no one will be investing in so many CG models as CG models are really expensive, especially when they will only be appearing for a few seconds per model.

No animator agreed to work on this season either and it still released. Half the titans in those chapters don't move or barely do anything in the background while the Alliance is fighting. Titans in Levi vs Zeke 2 were 2D and animators had even less time than they have for part 2.

Also that last fight once animated will probably only be 2 episodes.

it doesn't need 2.5 years lol everyone who thinks that is lost, but we dont know on which parts they already worked since fall last year. And a 24 anime tour with many action scenes needs at least 1.5-2 years to look good like jjk. The last 13-14 aot eps are difficult to animate so they need at least 12-15 months, I hope they already animated a good amount of chapter 117-123 at least. But 124 has some good odm moments too, I think 125-128 is the only easy part. But still nobody knows on which parts they've been working since fall last year. Lets hope nhk gives them the same airing time for like 14 eps between march (late winter season) till June

its still possible I mean rumbling has to be cgi anyway. but the titan shifter fight in chapter 117-119 and 134-138 can be hand drawn just like the odm scenes

I think there’s a misunderstanding of how CG works. I don’t know myself but in the season 2 opening, WIT used CGI on a bunch of titans when the scouts jumped off the wall. They can probably make one model and reuse it. The colossal titans look all very similar anyway.

Oh they would do that for the CTs but not for the final fight. At this point tbh I just hope for the last part of AOT to receive the best treatment possible.

I doubt they will be separating anything anymore. I would be surprised if they did. I expect an anime cour adapting 117-139 in about 13 episodes. Even if the schedule is better for part 2 people shouldn't expect it to look much better than part 1. I personally believe we will get minor improvements in quality overall with better action scenes.

The blu-ray has been delayed. https://twitter.com/AoTWiki/status/1380084337287163906

This is good news perhaps? The first half of part 1 has been delayed a few weeks longer than the second half, so, I'm expecting decent improvements to episode 6.

Possibilities:
1) This delay is because they have been improving it all this time and want to make it as good as possible. They grasp how popular this show is, and have taken all the criticism into consideration, and hence want to polish it as much as they can.

2) The staff has been so busy on other projects all this time that they haven't had time to work on the blu-ray at all. They've just started heavily working on it.

Conclusion: They definitely do care about the blu-ray, and I think it's safe to expect that it'll look a bit better than the TV version, otherwise they wouldn't have gone through the hassle of postponing it. If they really didn't care, they would just release the TV version as is. When I say 'they', I refer to whoever makes decisions regarding the blu-ray, most probably the production committee.

Yes it's possible but don't set your expectations too high, it's not the first time a blu ray anime has been delayed and didn't receive many improvements.

Yes, I am optimistic, but we can never know, MAPPA is a much different studio than WIT.

then it should serve as consolation for you to know that MAPPA in particular change a lot for their blurays, sometimes "too much". Outside of season 1, WIT didn't change all that much for their season 2 and 3 blurays. that could be due to the fact that as time went on, their capabilities far exceeded the shitty schedule they were given, so in return, their TV releases ended up looking much better, or it could be that they slowly started to not care as much due to some odd shots being kept even in the blurays. I'd say it was the former, and I think it would apply to MAPPA as well even more

Could you give me some links to comparisons of TV vs blu-ray for various MAPPA anime? Maybe ones where you think the biggest changes were made.
