I feel like I have the unpopular opinion here but I didn't care for Mirio at all. I couldn't take him seriously. He uses his quirk and his close fall off and then he's like "Hope you didn't see my weiner." What?! And he's the number one hero at UA?! I know he trained a lot and he's super strong but he acted like a goofball which made me think less of him. All that POWEEER stuff was stupid too. Literally, when I first started the fourth season, I thought Mirio was why everyone was complaining about season 4; turns out it was the pacing or something that didn't bug me in the slightest.

In my opinion, Deku is a MUCH more likable and relatable character and, even though he's not as strong or as skilled as Mirio, I've enjoyed watching him grow and I'm anxious to see how strong he becomes in the future seasons. I really could care less whether Mirio returns in future seasons or not.

No, Midoriya has definitely worked for it. Plus Mirio's background was explained way too fast, I didn't get time to absorb his struggles & journey to get to where he is so i really cannot empathize with him much even though he's obviously a great guy. And we see that Midoriya is always trying his best to better himself and I'd say he has more of a hero mindset than even Mirio, his first instinct when meeting Eri is to save her while instinctively Mirio wanted to avoid compromising Nighteye's mission at even the cost of a little girl.
